DARJEELING TEA MANUFACTURE:
Darjeeling Tea world over is synonimous with the Supreme quality it has. thus no other tea in the world can match, the subtle & fragrant flavour of Darjeeling Tea's which are high grown.
This very special quality of Darjeeling Tea has ever since come into a serious in depth study for its qualitative factor but alas ! It is the mother nature that gives the Darjeeling bushes the flavour & quality.
HISTORY:
On an average the Darjeeling plantation is 130 yrs old, & the original seeds brought in by the ploneers still stand as a monument In the wilderness of the mighty Himalayas. The original form of the Jat was pure China Camellia sinesis planted in the Beljing, although, Camellia assamica has also ocupied about 20% of the area in most of the Estates.
The average yield of a Darjeeling Tea Estate in 6 Quintal/ha, this low yield in not renumerative with the rising costs and hence most of the gardeners are trying to revive the plantation by new planting & extension. Correcting methods of pruning & rejuvenation are being done in most dilapidated areas. With the denudation of the forests, thẻ problem of drought & severe water logging in places are taking place. Land slides with high seepage has become the problem of the day.
